First, thank you to the other reviewers of this color! I took a risk and purchased the full size based on how others described this color, and they were correct! The photos of the lipstick tube might make it seem dark & scary, but the pigmentation is SLIGHTLY sheer (yes buildable) and reddish with warm pink undertones in the sunlight on me. Just as others stated, it's definitely a daytime color for most humans. Oh and the lip-feel is smooth and moisturizing. Another color WIN for Root lipsticks! 😃

Kate is the PERFECT everyday red. (And while it wasn't named after me, it definitely feels MADE for me!) :) I love that it's bold, but also somehow understated. It's more of a brick red, which I think is what makes it such a good everyday choice. And the formula is so creamy and moisturizing! I will definitely be reaching for this shade often!

If a red lip is your every day color, this shade is right for you. If you are just now going for a red lip, again this shade is for you. This color has the pop of red in a classic red lip but is muted enough that it can be used for every day wear. I'm a g3.5 for reference and this color is not an orange fire engine red, it's more a subtle, but deep classy red. I love it! This color is build able so you can use it to compliment your look or as the statement of your look.
